"Zen Medallion" by Latifah Saafir was featured at Quiltcon 2022 as part of her exhibit.
Artist Statement: "My friend Janice Ryan asked me to contribute to The Modern Medallion Workbook that she was writing with Ben Vassalo. I designed Zen Medallion so that it looks like a medallion but unlike most medallion quilts it's built-in wedges.
This quilt utilizes two of my favorite techniques, bias tape appliqué and foundation paper piecing. I love the unusual color combination of peach, mustard, teal and aqua. And a good chunky scrappy binding always makes my heart happy."
