"Winds of Change" by Kyra Reps was featured in the Small Wall Quilts - Movable Machine Quilted category at Paducah 2024.
Dots, and quilts that feature them, happen to be a specialty of Kyra Reps. However, her quilt Winds of Change trades dots for crystals and the effect is no less dazzling to see. Using a wholecloth, Kyra has created a work that brings to mind the winds of a swirling snowstorm with the crystals acting as her snowflakes. Quilted using a combination of free-motion quilting and ruler work, Winds of Change is the kind of quilt that when you see it might make you "change" the direction of your next project.
