Whimsical Bicycle
Whimsical Bicycle
I saw this pattern and it made me smile, and I had to make it!! A challenge for my skills that has helped me learn.
Pattern by Sally Manke: Pattern Name: Whimsical Bicycle
This pattern used raw edge and turned edge applique which I had never done. I learned how to use Misty Fuse for the flowers, butterflies and bird. Woven turned strips make up both baskets which I made different from pattern. The wheels are made from Retro 30's fabric which really gives it that 'whimsical' feel and used the Dresden Wheel pattern for them. I read and re-read the pattern instruction over and over for months and finally dove in and started to purchase the background fabric, then it all made sense and I was on my way. The final touch was the ribbon streamers on the handle grips that I added.
