When you hear hoofbeats...

When you hear hoofbeats...

When you hear hoofbeats... - Based on a photo taken by my son of two Grevy's zebras in the National Zoo, Washington, DC. It is done in reverse applique by machine, the edges of the stripes are distressed to resemble hair, the manes are thread painted with variegated and metallic thread. The borders are woven and attached separately. Machine quilted in the approximation of a zebra stripe pattern.
