I began following Amy Ringholz, an artist living in Jackson, WY. There was something about her style that I loved and wondered if I could create a quilt based on her paintings. We moved to Pagosa Springs, CO and while walking around our neighborhood one morning I encountered a bear strolling down the road. Thus, the name of the quilt. Amy is known for her animal paintings with human eyes. I received permission to create the quilt and used mostly commercial batiks and some hand dyed fabrics.
