Tomoko TanabeI made this quilt to commemorate my mother, who passed away the year before last. For the background, I used vegetable-dyed fabric that my sister had made. The quilt was constructed with narrow strips of fabric that cross and intersect, symbolizing meeting and parting. I pieced each strip using different fabrics, which implies that all lives are different
