A quilt showcasing a water pump actually used in former times to bring water to the house.
One day a few years ago while walking beside a lake, I came upon an old water pump surrounded by greenery. I took a picture and stored it away until someday I would be inspired to create a Landscape Quilt. It was an overwhelming experience to see it come together. I have included the original photo from which the quilt was created. Surrounding the pump are flowers, shrubs and a lawn ornament which were in both my garden and a friend's yard. The bird is embroidered and the quilt is enhanced with Swarovski crystals. It's amazing that people depended upon a pump like this to bring water to their homes. Thank goodness for technology!
