Artist Statement: "This project started as a practice piece to prove that it is possible to draw with a thread and needle in the same way that you would use a pencil on paper. The coloring book gave me the idea to arrange them in a panoramic format. Using Pellon Flex-Foam as batting presented its challenges, but as a big advocate of free-motion quilting on domestic machines, I was happy with the overall result and wanted to share it with fellow quilters."

About the "Tactile Architecture" Exhibit: "Buildings have a long history of inspiring the creative designs of quiltmakers. In the 19th century, American quilters developed classic architectural patterns such as Log Cabin, Schoolhouse, and Brick Wall. This annual juried exhibit challenges quiltmakers to create works based on architectural themes and inspirations. The quilt may be Traditional, Modern, or Art."
