Vex Props
Vex Props
"Vex Props" was Ruth Ann Berry‚Äã's first attempt at making a 3-D quilt.
Ruth Ann's original idea to execute the 3-D effect in Vex Props was to create a classic tumbling block background and then piece the other items in with it so that it would look like they were on top of the background. Instead, she "built from a single pattern piece, an equilateral triangle, cut from width of fabric strips with a 60° Ruler." Stacking the triangles in vertical rows and sewing the rows together brought out the 3-Dimensional effect she was hoping for, and the result was Vex Props.
