Veronica Ann

Veronica Ann

"Veronica Ann" by Betty Ford-Smith is named after Betty's friend's first granddaughter.

Betty says of Veronica Ann, "For this baby quilt, I incorporated used fabrics and spaced the rows of triangles further apart, making a much lighter quilt, weighing just seven pounds."

Artist Statement: "Veronica Ann Pine Cone Quilt - This quilt is named after my friend's first granddaughter. When my husband and I returned from France, I had to start making samples for the National Quilt Museum and needed a new idea. I decided to make a baby pine cone quilt to fit a crib with Veronica Ann as my inspiration in January 2019. I took the start of the quilt to the Highlands County 2019 Quilt Show, the National Quilt Museum in Paducah for demonstrations and worked on it at home. I finished this baby quilt April 1, 2019. It was made to fit in a baby's crib 38" x 40" and it weighs 7 lbs."
