Marty Ornish

Unbridled

Unbridled

"Unbridled" by Marty Ornish takes a damaged wedding dress and turns it into a beautiful art collage quilt.

For years Marty has been taking one wedding dress a year, disassembling it, and reusing all the parts. For Unbridled, she cut the back off of a damaged wedding dress and made it the centerpiece of this quilt with a focus on the buttons and loops. With the dress portion as the center, Marty then took many other wonderful fabrics and surrounded it to create an art collage quilt.

Materials: Vintage lace, tassels, deconstructed wedding gown, indigo-dyed Battenberg lace, vintage net-darned lace, red cotton velour, beaded embroidered silk remnant, gold thread, upholstery trim samples, crochet-covered buttons
