"Turbines"came about because Diane was building a trunk show of designs all based on her windmill idea. So, she wanted to create a quilt where sized up her blocks and made great big windmills. The large ones in "Turbines" finish at 24", with the blades cut at 6.5" by 12.5". What Diane loved specifically about making these large windmill blocks was that she could use much larger scale print fabrics, and really take advantage of how they looked.
