This quilt is my recreation and reinterpretation of the Tiffany window, 'Magnolias and Irises'.
Being fascinated with Tiffany windows, I found a book which has black and white outlines for them. The original window is called 'Magnolias and Irises'. I edited the design (don't we all?) and made it a little more my own. I used Sue Bleiweiss' technique for making black outlines of shapes which meant fusing all of the fabrics and and free hand cutting. Everything was fused and free hand cut except the shashing and binding. I love hand cutting. I changed the background abouot 4 times before I got the glow I wanted. It was fun to play with the values and colors.
