Sherry SonghurstThis quilt is dedicated to my mom, Ruby Louise Fraser Songhurst (1926-1996). It is predominately shades of blue, reminding me of her bright blue eyes that seemed to change colors with her moods. I chose a star design because she was born and raised in the Lone Star State. The scrappy selection of fabrics is to acknowledge that she was a child of the Great Depression. Mom would have loved a quilt in her favorite color, blue. Thank you for the opportunity to make this quilt. Without the Sapphire Celebration it would not have happened.
