The Palace of Fine Arts
Artist Statement: "This quilt is based on a series of photos I took of the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. It took 381 hours to complete, from start to finish. Each part was made with layered appliqué, including the traditional quilt patterns in the sky and pathway. The water was made by layering cotton quilting fabrics, Angelina fibers, and polyester organza. It was machine quilted on a stationary sewing machine with free motion quilting."
