"The Jinx" by Danielle Robbins won the Quilting Excellence Award at Quiltcon 2022.
Artist Statement: "This quilt is named after my cat that took quite a liking to it while it was beind hand quilted. This is my first original design and pattern, and second hand quilted quilt. I fell in love with the technique and chose to do a very simple piecing to highlight it. I used DMC embroidery floss, 6 strands for the main lines and 3 for the background. The binding is also hand sewn with rounded corners. The quilt is made with 100% cotton Kona Solids and Warm & Natural batting. I also explored adding another craft into my quilting, linocut printmaking, and made a stamped signature for the back. This quilt was an absolute joy to make and has led me down a new creative path."
