"The Gov's House - NOT" by Cindy Gangler won Third Place in the Wall Quilt Competition at PIQF XXX in 2021.
Artist Statement: "This quilt was created in response to a challenge to have a tree in the quilt. I thought I had taken a photo of the California Governor's Mansion. I later learned I had taken a photo of the Leland Stanford Mansion which has it's own rich history. I loved the photo so much I continued on to make the quilt. It's creation was an exercise in patience which is part of my new normal quilt mode."
