The Crossing by Linda Roy is a stunning work of appliqué. It is an original design inspired by an antique Pomegranate quilt. The addition of embroidery, stippling, and "upside down" stuffed yo-yos make this quilt a true stunner. On display at the International Quilt Festival in Houston 2021, The Crossing is a multiple award-winner including Best of Show at the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show 2023, First Place - Hand Quilted Quilts (Sponsored by Arrow Sewing) at AQS Quiltweek 2022, Best Traditional Design Award at AQS QuiltWeek¬Æ - Daytona Beach, Florida 2020 and Best in Show Large Quilt Smoky Mountain Quilters of Tennessee 2019.
Artist Statement: "My design was inspired by antique appliqué pomegranate quilts. The colors were chosen to compliment my sister's home. Stipple quilting and up side down stuffed yo-yos add texture."
