Texture, Travel, and Happiness
Texture, Travel, and Happiness
"Texture, Travel, and Happiness" was featured at QuiltCon 2020 in The Quilts of Victoria Findlay Wolfe exhibit.
The full title of Victoria's quilt is TEXTURE, TRAVEL, AND HAPPINESS: Life Experiences and the Responsibilities of Dreams.
Artist Statement: "Making quilts for other people can often be a daunting challenge. It's a challenge I absolutely love. I don't take a lot of direction in design from customers, but I do encourage a dialogue regarding who, why, or what the quilt is about. Sometimes these conversations lead me to an idea immediately, which was the case for this quilt, and after a year I was not happy with where it was going...In frustration, I spent a day looking at the fabrics, and pondering my pathy. I went to bed, and literally woke up with an entirely new visual idea, and made this quilt in a few days. The journey is the most important part of the creative process for me, and clearly dreams have a deep connection as well, hence the title. Best not to fight the process, but settle in, absorb, and let it flow..."
