Stellar Interlude
Stellar Interlude
This is an appealing modern quilt of kaleidoscope blocks anchored with simple vertical lines.
Josephine wanted to make another kaliedoscope quilt, with fewer blocks. When designing it she settled on a white background with just a few simple, but colorful, vertical lines to anchor the hexagon blocks. The background is pieced with the blocks appliqued over it. The hand quilting follows the design in the blocks, but in the white runs vertically in slightly wavey lines.
The quilt was raffled in 2017 by the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Province of Africa, with the proceeds payimg the salaries of the carpenters making the furniture for classrooms and library at Notre Dame Lower Basic School in Jarra-Soma in the Gambia.
