Stars and Crosses is scraps - a comfort quilt for a cancer fighter in 2022. Reach for the stars - carry your cross.
I started by gathering suitable sizzles of scraps and made each star without considering the others. The crosses are 9 blocks, some cut and rotated. The quilting is by domestic machine using a pattern from 99 Machine Quilting Designs by Christa Watson. My inspiration was the struggle to reach for the stars as you bear a cross in life. Ups and downs in the cancer fight journey. It brought much comfort to the patient and his family. He did not survive his battle.
