Artist Statement: "This quilt was inspired by a tumbling blocks quilt that I saw at the De Young Museum Amish Abstractions quilt show in 2009. When I saw the traditional Amish tumbling blocks quilt, I knew I needed to create a similar one in rainbow batiks. The Compass rose at the top is machine paper pieced. The rest of the quilt is hand pieced. The quilt took over 10 years to complete with many starts and stops."
