"SquashBlossom Basket" by Noreen Borys was featured in the Artisan Cotton Fabric Challenge at Quiltcon 2022.
Artist Statement: "This quilt was inspired by the intricately woven baskets created by the Tohono O'odham Native American tribe that are displayed in the Heard Museum in Phoenix. I designed my own simplified version of a SquashBlossom basket and used the Windham Artisan Fabrics to create the piece."
Techniques: Machine Pieced, Machine Appliqué, Machine Quilted without a frame (domestic). The appliqué was done by cutting and fusing each section, then machine stitching to secure it in place.
