Square Bloom
Square Bloom
Square Bloom by Jo Wollschlaeger won Second Place - American Patchwork & Quilting Transparency Quilting Challenge 2025.
Artist Statement: "This quilt is a response to Pantone's 2024 color of the year, Peach Fuzz, a color I find very challenging. (I will never say a color is ugly, just challenging.) By stacking enough translucent peach squares on top of each other, I arrived at a deep, vibrant orange ... a color I love. The squares radiate out from the center, like the petals of a rose. The quilting echoes the 1/2" x 1/2" grid from the original layout."
Techniques Used: Machine Pieced, Machine Quilted without a Frame (Domestic)
