Artist Statement: "The lines for the swirls are couched in a beautiful hand-dyed yarn, which turned out to be high maintenance with color bleed and shrinkage (fortunately discovered before I stitched it to my pieced center). Not willing to give up on my plan, I prewashed the yarn. The pieced center uses hand-painted fabrics, with those in the corners drawn over to subtly change their color."
