Artist Statement: "A stop along Russian River Road with my son inspired this thread-painted quilt. The trees were so impressively tall and my son looked so small walking in front of me. The trees are simply applique pieces of plain fabric, thread-painted to give substance, color and texture. The bottom portion is a pieced disappearing nine-patch pattern emphasizing again the tallness of the trees."
