"Show Your Colors: Stand Out From the Crowd" was made by Kris Vierra for the Joann's Quilt your Colors Contest in 2011.
As for the inspiration for the quilt, Kris just liked the idea of a rainbow colored zebra. She says, "I wanted to do an African themed quilt with a twist, and I thought why not a non traditional zebra. I'm not real big on conformity and liked the idea of being yourself in your own way. The applique is all needle turned and then done on the machine with mono-filament. Extra details are added with the quilting such as the sun god, and if you look close, you can even find additional animals including a pride of lions."
