Road to California 2025 Artist Statement: "I created this quilt as a memorial for my Mother. She loved owls, and she is represented in this quilt by a strong, protective mother owl. The 3 babies represent her 3 children. The beadwork on the bottom is done in her style with some beads she made herself. I always felt like Mom created a special, secret world for me and my siblings that was filled with inspiration and beauty."
Pacific International Quilt Festival 2024 Artist Statement: "I created this quilt as a memorial for my Mom, who always loved owls. She is represented in this quilt by the mother owl, and the three babies represent her three children. Summertime fills me with memories I shared with her, and is anything but easy since losing her. Making this quilt helped me confront the grief and to take more joy in those memories."
