Sea Fantasy
Sea Fantasy
Quilted fabric embellished with yarn, dyed gauze, 3-D grass, free-standing coral, embroidered fish, sea shells and bead
5 years ago I started a wall hanging that began with wet fabric folded and scrunched then dried and with the wrinkles still in fused and quilted, then put the project away until January 2025. Next I made coral using water soluble fabric and free motion. I dyed cheesecloth to add embellishment to the underwater scene. Using my embroidery tool I made fish and an octopus. I couched yarn of various colors and textures. I cut fish out of printed fabric and fused them on. Finally I added sea shells and beads and stones to finish it off. I finished with at artist binding and put it in a shadow box frame.
