Barbara's S Word Quilt was made over twenty-five years ago with a group of six quilters who called themselves the S Word quilters. The group met at a retreat center in January and the "S" stood for snow, meaning they sewed together when it snowed at the retreat. The group used pieced neutral blocks for the background to have a palette to put their appliqué work on top of.
