"Rough Cut" by Peter Hayward was featured in the Abstract category at Houston 2023.
Artist Statement: "I wanted to combine different triangular designs into shifting hexagons and create a constantly varying depth across the whole quilt. To achieve this, I played with ombre fabrics and juxtaposed primary colors, which progress logically around the center. The resulting variety of angular shapes appeared to me like a cross between a strained glass window and a multi-faceted but irregular diamond, whence the title was born."
