Romance of the Chickens - This original design was intended for the Black, White & Red All Over Keepsake Quilting challenge. We were given 6 fabrics and had to use at least 4. The rose fabric was orange, so I colored it with ink and fussy cut the roses. The beaks and feet were also painted. The roses formed a heart and just needed some ruffles - albeit of dots and checks. It didn't meet the challenge size requirements, so I couldn't send it in for judging. After quilting, I realized I didn't like the background fabric by the chickens, so I cut it out, faced the openings, then added a background of black netting to support the quilt.
