"Remains 1: Hers" by Sue Benner is an art quilt utilizing recycled clothing.
The entire surface of Remains 1: Hers is covered with mostly silk clothing randomly stitched to the canvas on a Longarm quilter, and on top of the clothing are many sari strips as well. Sue's idea behind the quilt was not only to recycle the clothing, but to apply that material on the canvas in a very direct way.
