Reinventing Dixie

Reinventing Dixie

Artist Statement: "This quilt is the result when a modernized Alabama Beauty meets a Yankee with an unsuspecting muse. I began by dying over a dozen yards of ombre fabric. The top wasn't pieced until I healed from surgery. I always think in purple and green, as evidenced here. Quilting is hand-guided and includes trapunto. You may think it's more like "Blue stars Fell on Alabama", but my muse isn't a jazz great. Any guesses?...You know her all too well."
