Reds and Circles
Reds and Circles
This quilt was inspired by Alex's improv class.
I made this quilt for my granddaughter, who is an artist and enjoys abstract art. The quilt is made with oakshott fabric, which I loved working with. I am a traditional quilter, and this is so far out of the box for me that I can't even see the box. I chose my fabric colors and thought about it for two months. One day I just woke up and started the project, and I didn't stop until I was finished. The circles were made from my AccuQuilt system, and they are raw edge appliqué. The following day I quilted it using my domestic sewing machine with smoke invisible thread and put the binding on. It was very liberating, and I would do it again. And Juli loved it too!
