While teaching at a quilt shop, Cyndi noticed the shop carried collections of Dupioni silk. When the owner asked Cyndi if she could create a quilt for the shop from the silk, Cyndi said she would only if everyone could have access to the quilt. So, she taught a class on how to make the pattern for "red.", which also included tips, tricks, and techniques for successfully working with silk in general.
