Raven by Claudia Barner of Mesa, Arizona was featured in the Innovative Appliqué category at Houston 2017.
With it being October, we thought we would spook things up a bit. Claudia Barner's Raven was "inspired by a PBS special about the communication and problem-solving skills of ravens." With machine piecing, hand, machine, and fused appliqué, and some good old hand embellishment, this quilt definitely shows why you don't want to mess with a raven.
