Mark L. Sherman
Poppy's Rainbow
Poppy's Rainbow
Mark Sherman created "Poppy's Rainbow" in memory of his Dad (who his kids called Poppy).
Mark's two kids are in the quilt as butterflies and Mark is in the quilt as a frog. He told his kids as a joke, "If you don't behave, I'm going to eat you..." Mark spent many months working on the turned edge appliqués, quilting, and fills. He even added a few Swarovski crystals for highlights. Poppy's Rainbow won 1st Place, Large Wall Quilts: Longarm / Midarm Machine Quilted - Paducah 2013 and also took Best of Show at the World Quilt Show - Florida IV.
