Each year a Colorado Red Rocks Quilt group makes a quilt for a charity acution. This year we took a photo of a large rock outcropping in our area that each summer becomes the backdrop for a field of poppies. We hand painted fabric for the sky and rocks then fussy cut commercial fabric for the tree and grass. Poppies were appliqued on.
