Polynesian Paradise Legacy

A Legacy Quilt following Ricky Tims pattern and using Polynesian Paradise hand dyed cotton

This 20 month block of the month quilt from Ricky Tim's website, the Legacy Quilt Challenge was made using Ricky's hand dyed cottons in the Polynesian Paradise color blends along with a few hand dyed scraps I purchased at one of Ricky's garage sale. I was fortunate enough to see Ricky's original quilt as backdrop for the play "The Quilters" in La Veta. Part of the fun is the memory of seeing the play with good friends. I enjoyed working on the large blocks each month and working with the hand dyed cottons was a dream. They just have a different feel. After I finished the blocks, I kind of drifted away from the project for a while, but last year, I picked it back up and began working on each block as quilt-as-you-go. I was a bit intimidated by the size since I don't have a long arm quilting machine. My block placement is intentional since I have a particular bed I want to use this on, and I oriented the blocks so they will work on the bed. I love the colors and the way the quilt looks. It may not be perfect, but it's mine.
