Poinsettia Stars
Poinsettia Stars
This is the third of a series of 60 degree quilts I've been making that were inspired by the Feathered Star block.
The fabric used in this quilt is Moda "Starberry" by Corey Yoder. I chose a limited number of fabrics, but the star blocks could also be made scrappy. The piecing looks more challenging than it was. It did take some time to sew all of the star points and feathered units, which were made oversized and trimmed to perfection. The assembly is done in horizontal rows. The units measure 4 1/2" on the sides. I'm currently working on another one using different fabrics with units that measure 4 1/2" on the height which is the way most 60 degree rulers measure.
