Artist Statement: "Phineas the Phlamingo lives in our garden in summer. When I asked on Instagram for possible quilt titles, the two best were "Flamingo, Some Assembly Required", and "Shattered Ceilings". Phineas chose the first, but only if I spelled his species his way. He and I both love the bold lines and fresh twists on tradition in modern quilting, as well as the open spaces for quilting. During winter, Phineas and his friend, Sven the Gnome, live indoors with us."
