Peter
Peter
This quilt was inspired by my favorite picture of my husband Peter. He is sitting at the table in our cabin at the lake, which he often did, reading his Bible or a book, listening to music. He is an amazing poet/story teller, and the words written on the quilt are part of a favorite story of mine that he wrote many years ago.
After taking several classes from Roxanne Nelson, instructor and encourager extraordinaire, I started working on Peter, and over a span of 6-7 years, worked on and off on the quilt, finally completing it in March of this year.
The sweater, Bible, and radio/cassette player were images printed on cloth with some embellishment on the radio and sweater using black crayon. The words were written using a white gel pen. The rest of the quilt was done by hand, and fused to the background using Steam a Seam 2.
Due to COVID, I am not able to have my quilt framed at this time, but will choose an old fashioned gold frame, reminiscent of a picture we had at the lake.
