"Peony Mandala" by Kumiko Frydl is made using one of her standout techniques, shadow trapunto.
After making quilts using foundation paper piecing, Kumiko wanted to switch to quilts that showed off the quilting more, and thus her beautiful shadow trapunto styled quilts came into the picture.
