Peaceful Poppies
Peaceful Poppies
This original art quilt was inspired by a photograph I took of the Poppies in my garden.
I have been a photographer and a quilter for over 30 years. I have made many quilts using someone else's pattern, but I have always wanted to try reproducing my photographs with fabric and thread. So, I took an online workshop from Melinda Bula during the pandemic. It was a great class where I learned how to make an art quilt using my photograph as inspiration. I loved the process and plan to make more original art quilts using Melinda's fusible applique technique. I wrapped the finished quilt around a painter's canvas so it could be hung like a painting.
