Pati Fried

Pati's Paintbox

Pati's Paintbox

"Pati's Paintbox" was by Pati Fried during the pandemic with the intention to just to play with color.

Pati would use two pieces to make the quilt, a long and a short rectangle, and sew them to each other based on if she liked two colors together. She would continue this process again and again, row by row, until she had Pati's Paintbox. Having put her ruler away a long time ago, the quilt itself has a lot of movement in it. There is both hand and machine stitching with different colored thread that plays off of each fabric choice to both compliment and contrast each decision.
