"Parterre" by Sonia Higgs won 1st Prize - Traditional Quilts at Festival of Quilts 2025 in Birmingham.
Parterre by Sonia Higgs took First Prize in the Traditional Quilts category (Sponsored by Vlieseline Freudenberg UK) at the 2025 Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, UK. Designed by Shelly Kelly, Sonia hand quilted her work and used colored fabrics that were "all hand needle turned onto the white background" to create the look of her quilt.
One judge praised Sonia's quilt saying, "I like your alternative colour choice for stained glass effect. Calm and harmonious colour choices."
