This quilt evolved from various photos of weathered buildings.
I designed this piece by sketching some perspectives of old houses, then reinterpreted them in a more colorful way in an effort to display the continued beauty and utility of things built and used long ago. I used a combination of piecing and applique. I like to use found fabrics when possible and a vintage Indian bedspread was used for the border and 'water' in the foreground. I almost always include cats in my settings. Skewed perspective is intentional and included in the full-sized cartoon. It is mostly machine pieced and quilted with a home machine.
