This colorful art quilt features Our Lady of Guadalupe.
This art quilt was inspired by my ten years in Mexico -- the bright colors, the history, the culture, the icons. The center piece, part of a panel of Alexander Henry's Virgen de Guadalupe collection, was surrounded by almost eighty fussy-cut pieces from a pair of wild thrifted pants. The only other fabric used was the checkerboard behind the center image. The quilt was topstitched and utilized a pillowcase finish. It was then embellished with yo-yos & beads across the bottom and small hanging bells on the sides.
