I grew up next door to my grandmother. She taught me to sew. Among her treasures were a set of unfinished hand-embroidered Crazy quilt blocks made by my great-grandmother. They cast a spell on me. In my adult profession, I was a spectroscopist, studying light and color energy with computerized instrumentation. Now, as an artist, I combine all these factors.
